String Instrument
Which orchestral string instrument has the most solo music written for it?
I enjoy the classical strings and I am thinking of learning to play one of the traditional string quartet instruments. I don’t intend to play with or for people but mainly as a catharsis for myself. With that in mind, does anybody know which strings have the most solo music written for them? I assume it is violin but I love the cello too. I would almost prefer cello but I don’t find a lot of solo cello music when I google. Anyway, any input would be great. Thanks
